Actor|Teaching Artist|Selfie Expert
A proud West-Coast native, Rhyver White hails from Los Angeles, California. Aspiring to cultivate her dreams of being an actor, creator, and storyteller when she grows up, Rhyver graduated from Boston University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts. Though acting is her main focus, her journey upon her path of artistic evolution has introduced her to directing, play and screenwriting, and arts education.
Prior to college, Rhyver spent a lot of her time training and acting with CBG Arts and at the Fernando Pullum Performing Arts Center, both organizations focus on creating and producing classic, contemporary, and new works for children and adults of color. As a resident actor and director for the Inglewood Theater Group, culture is a huge part of Rhyver’s aesthetic; she takes an active interest in the welfare of her community and strives to give back as often as she can. For Rhyver, being an artist is more than just a hobby; it is a dedication to empowering the silenced voices within minority communities through the arts. Whenever she has the opporunity to return to her stomping grounds she serves as a teaching artist, guest assistant director, and acting coach to the members of these artistic communities.
At the root of it all, Rhyver considers herself to be a storyteller with the goal of maintaing human connection and interaction. She is also obsessed with Minions, an expert in the art of selfies and tends to be a bit clumsy but can promise to strut like Beyonce and Naomi Campbell to make up for it. When it comes to Rhyver, you really just have to expect the unexpected!
